Welfare and Grievance Redressal Committee Grievance Policy

In order to impart safety and security to the students and staff, a cell has been constituted for redressal of grievances. The Student's Grievance Cell desires to promote and maintain a conducive and unprejudiced educational environment. If the students face any grievance from the staff or workers, then they can complain at our grievance cell. The members will look into the issues, gather the evidence, and take the necessary action against the guilty. The Cell enables a student to express feelings by initiating and pursuing the grievance procedure in accordance with the rules and regulations of the College.

Objectives

The objective of the Grievance Redressal Cell is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the Institute

  1. To provide the students access to immediate, hassle-free recourse to have their grievances redressed
  2. To support, those students who have been deprived of the services offered by the college, for which he / she is entitled
  3. To enlighten the students on their duties and responsibilities to access benefits due under the policies
  4. To establish structured interactions with students to elicit information on their expectations
  5. To identify systemic flaws in the design and administration of various general insurance products and to seek solutions thereon
  6. To institute a monitoring mechanism to oversee the functioning of the Grievance Redressal Policy
  7. To ensure a democratic environment in the campus,
  8. To solve the various personal and educational related grievances of the teacher-trainees,
  9. To make the institution student friendly
  10. To ensure the qualitative as well as quantitative development of the institution through the grievance and Redressal Cell

The Welfare and Grievance and Redressal Committee was constituted in the institution with the following components-

Components

The Grievance Redressal mechanism has been constituted with the following components i.e. that is

  • To look into the matters of grievance if any
  • Feedback provided by the students and other stakeholders
  • Look into the matters of ragging, to prohibit and prevent it.
  • To look into the matters of sexual harassment and gender sensitive issues and to advice the institution accordingly

Responsibility For Redressal:

  1. The final responsibility for Grievance Redressal rests with the Principal of the College.
  2. The College expects that Grievance Redressal be time bound and result oriented. Every Grievance is expected to be resolved within a maximum period of fifteen working days.
  3. The Grievance Redressal Cell of the college shall monitor status and progress of Grievance Redressal and shall furnish quarterly report on Grievance Redressal position to the Principal.

Students' Grievance Procedure

It involves a process of investigation in which 'Student's Grievance Committee' enquires and analyses the nature and pattern of the grievances in a strictly confidential manner. This cell is meant for maintaining the records of grievances, actions taken thereon and settlement of grievances. The grievance box is placed in the visitor’s room and administrative block where students have to drop their grievances, if any. The box is opened once in a month and checked by Grievances Committee secretary. Any grievance found is scrutinized and necessary actions are immediately taken by the Committee. In case of emergency, the Principal calls a meeting and addresses the problems immediately. During the last two years the cell has been able to amicably resolve the grievances of the students.

Matters are disclosed to only those, who have a legitimate role in resolving the matter. Emphasis on procedural fairness has been given with a view to "the right to be heard and right to be treated without bias".

Code of Conduct

  • Ragging of any kind is an inhuman and heinous crime & is a punishable offence.
  • Senior students are strictly forbidden to harass junior students in or outside the college campus.
  • Criminal prosecution procedure would be initiated against the guilty and the College can expel the student in this case.
  • In case of torture or misbehavior, the victim should immediately refer the matter to the Anti-Ragging Cell or to the Principal. Their identity will be kept confidential.
  • Complaints of any kind can be put into the COMPLAINT BOX placed at the entrance of the main Lobby.

Guidance and Counselling Committee

Introduction

Guidance:- Guidance is necessary in meeting the need

  • For a person’s happiness
  • To develop a sensitivity for moral and spiritual values
  • To be recognized and respected as an individual
  • To make the individual feel his contribution valuable to the group of which he is a part
  • To provide opportunity to develop and use abilities and experiences
  • For warmth, affection and understanding
  • To develop resourcefulness and self-direction in adapting to change in society

Counselling: - Counselling is the core of the guidance programme. It ensures a coordinated functioning of the heart and head. In the same way, the success or failure of the guidance programme is determined by counselling service.

Establishment-

The Committee was established on  15 March, 2013

Objectives-

  • To create awareness of ‘Self” so as to establish oneself as a better person
  • To ease students from stress in the area of academic and personal life
  • To create awareness among students about various competitive exams for their future profession
  • To help students develop soft skills and personality development
  • To provide information to the students on the scope and relevance of the areas of their interest.

Library Advisory Committee

Introduction

Library Advisory Committee in Christ College was formed in March in the year 2010 consisting of five members. Chairman- Principal, Convener- Librarian, Teacher representative- One faculty member, Two students representative- Two students.

Objectives-

  • Seek allocation of fund for the growth and development of the library.
  • Select titles and make purchase of books from the list of publishers.
  • Check the documents of the library.
  • Conduct annual verification of the stock of books
  • Monitor functioning of the library
  • Arrange library period in the time table

In addition to above mentioned members, the committee was of the opinion to include the technical support staff for the smooth functioning of the library.

Social and Cultural Committee

Introduction

The Christ College believes in the all-round development of the personality of students. It aims to provide rich cultural experiences so that student appreciates the social and cultural diversity of the society. The cultural committee of the college works with the objectives of developing the academic literary and cultural talents of the students, improving their capacities to work as a team and raising their level of self confidence in interacting with fellow, students and peers.

Cultural activities organized by the committee include a number of activities in intra and inter college competitions viz, Mehendi, Rangoli, Spot Painting, Debate, Short Plays, Singing(Solo & Group), Dance (Solo & Group) etc. Winners of the competitions are awarded certificates, trophies in the intra-college events.  Students actively participate in inter college competitions.
